Local Information, Austerlitz

On December 2nd 1805 the Battle of the Three emperors took place between Brno and Slavkov. The French army of the emperor Napoleon defeated combined armies of the Austrian emperor Francis and Russian czar Alexander.

In Austerlitz, there is also a the chateau in Baroque style. The chateau includes a gallery of paintings, inherited from the 17th and 18th century collection of the Kounic family, and a historical museum with a permanent exhibition on the theme of the Battle of Austerlitz.
